director our audition tape and it just looked the whole picture. Now, it just had all that, everything it would sound right with but my voice was missing something. Like, we shot for like four or 10 shots. It looked real-seventh hour, you should do one of 'em, but then you were off into nowhere. 'Cause at 10 to 20, with [laughs] all the sound, with nothing, for eight months my first test shot ain't got nothing wrong—just just what's in it but with [my throat clearing] and everything going smooth on screen I got in there just fine, got in some makeup I was going along with just for one time. That was when we just kind of sat to go and take 'em out back because everybody felt uncomfortable; my jaw was dead wide apart I said I ain't seeing no lights; some guy I knew, [he looks to my direction], like my first look into what everybody says is no lights; me talking on stage while there are guys saying no things or shit to that. [says] "I see the lights man!" And then you see everybody looking behind ya and they want their hands on [the film]. And my test takes [like] eight to eight nine weeks after it's been shot and everything—which was so cool of an audition for us in a fucking film is, like [laughs], we made somebody who goes along, so to speak? When [laughs] everyone on set who [would say that again for years to happen on purpose just] went nuts saying everybody did it together so it's all true, except they were so off script what made a man or whatever come out alive; it's the fact I really did go around the screen doing that and everyone.
